Giving Brands a Human Voice
Giving Brands a Human Voice
I didn't set out to build a career in marketing. I dreamed of moving to New York to become a magazine editor. I've always been drawn to the intersection of words and visuals. Studying journalism at the University of Oregon taught me to think critically, ask probing questions, write with clarity, and develop an eye for visual storytelling through photojournalism. I never imagined those skills would become the foundation of my career in marketing.
At its core, I believe marketing is about showing love and respect for your audience, your customers, or your clients. That's why marketing felt like such a natural fit. From the beginning, I loved creating content that educates, informs, and demystifies complex ideas so people can better understand the value behind a product, service, or mission. At its best, marketing gives a company its authentic voice and helps it connect with the communities it serves.
I’ve had the opportunity to work for global financial institutions like Charles Schwab and BlackRock, as well as community-focused organizations like GLG and the Cloud Security Alliance. Across the U.S., Hong Kong, and London, I’ve built trusted brands through content strategy, digital marketing, and customer engagement. From websites and email programs to webinars, product launches, and integrated campaigns, I enjoy translating complex ideas into clear, compelling content that informs, inspires, and creates meaningful customer experiences.
Whether I'm reaching a B2B or B2C audience, working for a Fortune 500 company or a mission-driven nonprofit, developing a marketing campaign, writing an article, or interviewing a customer, my guiding principle remains the same: to lead with curiosity, empathy, and creativity, helping people understand something a little better and feel more connected because of it.
After years of living in bustling cities with more skyscrapers than trees, I'm grateful to be back home in Portland, surrounded by lush greenery. Outside of work, you'll usually find me hiking, photographing everyday moments, sewing, tending my garden, or getting lost in play with my son, Nico.
